Any reason to get augment aside from death?

I tried augment power and it was really lackluster, sure the movespeed was nice but it really gimps his damage

death or gravity

gravity is actually really strong, and worth considering in a game by game basis

How so? It just increases cast range right? Sure the 10% cdr is nice, but again damage gimped for casting range doesnt seem worth it

It's not that bad, 10% cooldown reduction if it all stacks up to 40% actually gives a substantial dps increase. If you go from 30% crd to 40% crd I believe your dps increases by 17%. And of course, you get to cast more than 1 gravity field during teamfights. If anything, the death augment is good because it gives bonus AP.

Death is for snowballing. If you're not ahead by the time midgame rolls around, you should just get Gravity because it's not likely you'll get ahead.

The additional cast range help Viktor's utility so much.

According to a couple of the devs, top lane tanky Viktor is a thing, and you buy Power on that.

If you are looking at purely the stat gains, Death is still the superior one by a long shot. I get Gravitty at times when you need that Gravity range to catch people. It's really situational though. I'd say 95% of the time I grab Death. 5% Gravity and almost never Power.

I'd try a few games with Gravity before you write it off.

having that 812.5 range on gravity field can be huge, but like I said it is on a game by game basis. The mana, mana regen, and cdr aren't terrible either.

sometimes you just want that extra damage, sometimes you want the utility

I think I will, I like gravity field, i just wish it expanded the field a little and increased the range
