Annie theory

Why do all the supposedly best Annie builds ignore Molten Shield until absolutely last? I can see it being kind of useful to have Q or W one point higher, but early in the game it really doesn't make THAT much difference. And later, it makes even less. Instead, here's my Annie order.

QEWQWRQWQWRQWEEREE

Basically, I add a point to Molten Shield at lv.2 and add a point to Tibbers every time it comes up, but alternate Disintegrate and Incinerate evenly. After that SINGLE POINT in Molten Shield at lv.2, then I ignore it, and here's why.... Pyromania.

Molten shield is a low cost spell, low cooldown spell, and while it counts toward the spells to initiate Pyromania's stun, it won't accidentally zero it if the stun is already primed. I could walk the lane at lv.3 and go E, E, E, E and by the time I get to my outer tower, stun is ready for W and Q. Since it's low cost, by the time it's cooled down, I already regained the mana from using it.

Additionally, I use Tear of the Goddess, building toward Archangel Staff, and Molten Shield is a free stack every 6-7 seconds, even without being in combat.

Sure, Molten Shield is a blah skill, as designed, but it definitely has a use even at low levels.

This what everyone does.
You get 3 stacks then pop molten shield while flashing before the bear drop.

You get a point of Molten Shield some time after level 6 but not after level 10.

Tear on Annie is just bad btw.

Where do you get that the "supposedly best Annie builds" ignore molten shield?

The point of E is pretty much to initiate the stun. If you don't get it, your opponent will know when you're going to stun them and won't let you get close. To counter that, just get close, use E to ready stun and then Q or W to stun the f***er.

That's what everyone does.... around lv.10, or even higher. I see some builds that don't even look at Molten Shield until lv.13 when they're FORCED to get it.

My point was why not get that single point at lv.2 so that you have the easy stacks early.

I quickly look over your post and your main argument for lvling up molten shield is that you can use it to proc ur passive sooner and to lvl up tear of goddess.

Well molten shield cooldown doesn't get shorter with lvl ups... so I'm sad to say that this entire thread was a waste of your time and my time in reading it.

I only get Tear because it builds up to Archangels Staff, and the stacks from Tear carry over. If the stacks didn't carry over with it, I wouldn't bother, but since they do, I might as well pick it up on the way and start building those stacks 2000 gold sooner, even though Tear only gets 4 per spell instead of Archangel which gets 6.

because they're bad.

skarner's E is literally less valuable than an auto attack
