Is the Muffinqt build viable in solo queue?

If you don't know today he played a 55 minute game as thresh, had 12k gold, and only items were boots, philo stone and sight stone. He spent almost 10k on wards and oracles. I wanna know how good this is in solo queue. Obviously it only works on certain champions like Thresh (who he did it on) or blitz. What do you guys think?

If you're support that's normal.

A support's build is basically aura's and actives, you can definitely trade those for more vision items. If your team is doing the 'ol "group mid and teamfight" thing though you'd probably want Aegis/Shurelias.

Terrible in soloQ. Probably the single best item for a support in yoloQ is Shurelia's - it allows YOU to determine the engage and you can save people who try to throw.

Focusing that much gold on vision can be incredibly powerful in the situation Muffinqt was in - a tournament game with voice communication.

In solo queue it's far less useful and you're better off focusing on actually boosting your own power (while also giving sight)

You can get away with it when playing with competent people that can make good use of vision and enemy lack of vision. I wouldn't say it's the most reliable way to play support in solo queue.

uh, what game was that? i've never seen a support with that kind of build at 55 minutes in. i had a similar 55+ minute game (on nami) and continuously bought wards/oracles. i had a completed build. that means i spent 7k on wards/oracles, since, i had 15.8k or so gold at the end.

i don't see how he could spend that much and only have those items. even in a pro game, i'd expect him to have at least shurelias, maybe locket.

but no, i would not suggest that. it's terrible for solo queue. you'll get bursted down instantly and then your oracles goes to waste, you can't peel/cc, etc.
