Combine cost increased to 430 gold from 200 (total cost increased to 2500 gold from 2270)


So first they lowered the cost by removing the mana regen on it, which was good.

Now they putting the previous cost back except they're not adding the mana regen?

That's Riot for you.

Same thing happened with Sunfire Cape, no one used it, price got lowered, people started using it, price was increased, people still keep using it because it's (apparently) OP.

If Riot gave it back the Mana Regen, I guarantee you people who used to buy it on Manaless champions won't even think of using it on them again, because it's a "wasted stat".

It's easier to balance things by getting people to use something they perceive to be overpowered then nerfing it down to balanced because you have a larger data set as opposed to getting people to use something perceived to be underpowered then buffing it to balanced.

I more blame hivemind mentality and lack of experimentation over riot being poor at balancing. Sadly, the only way for good items to get attention most times is to "nerf" it before putting it to an acceptable level.
