Jayce not bringing enough

I feel like Jayce doesn't bring enough to the table, most of them win their lanes but then during teamfights they cant do enough. He has a good poke but in general he isn't tank enough to dive carry or take aggro and his dmg while decent doesnt seem as good as other top laners, he does seem to offer a lot of utility tho.

try letting him poke for a few waves before diving head first onto a 5v5 enemy tower. Then again asking solo Q players to wait a wave or two to tenderize the enemy team is beyond possible.

In solo Q there is only lane phase and team fight phase. Your champion pick resembles how you should be playing the game out. A jayce pick is for lane phase/small skirmishes. If you wanted to just dive the enemy team pick karthus, but expect a weaker lane phase.

Asking for team work in solo Q is crazy, its called solo Q for a reason.

Being able to poke the enemies down so that his allies have a huge advantage when they engage isn't bringing enough to the table?

I think Jayce is a great pick. You just cant jump into a fight like an idiot pretending to be shen. You have to be more cautious about when to go in, even if you arent able to poke a lot before the engagement.

This. TSM wiped CLG because Dyrus Jayce was carrying with his skillshots. CLG beat Dig right after without losing anything including a death so it's not like CLG just got beat hard (though in all fairness they did).

Hotshot got camped, and Chauster wasnt doing anything, so neither of them got tanky at all. That meant they couldnt stall fights for link to poke with AP nidalee, and doublelift had no peel whatsoever.

Sadly, that might actually be the key to beating CLG... Camp hotshot

in solo queue Jayce doesn't bring enough to the table. Don't care about pro games. And at the level most people are at Jayce can't get enough farm quickly enough to be useful. Also as was already said Hotshot got camped hard. Your typical solo queue can't do that and keep pressure up. I've gotten owned as Cho and still manage to come back, get huge, and just eat jayce's skillshots while he burns mana and becomes useless (since again solo queue don't think ADs should get blue).

So in 99% of situations Jayce really isn't that useful, what pros do in LCS doesn't really carry over all the time.

Assuming the fault is with the champion and not the player is the totally wrong mind set
