I would love a top down Baldur's Gate II style RPG, but your characters and his/her actions are just as smooth as a MOBA. One of my biggest problems with old school style WRPGs, controls are so clunky.

I'd actually describe Western RPGs as more Sandbox-y and less story oriented than JRPGs.

Which is the source of a lot of the 'clunkiness.' WRPGs tend to emphasize free-form character development, so they suffer from ability bloat.
