picking a champ for top

#1The_Madd_HatterPosted 4/22/2013 9:32:01 PM
so I've been having troubles really settling into a champion that I like to play top lane with

i used to play teemo up there and it was great for a while but then something happened and i couldn't do it any more

i tried a few out for a while and i finally settled on shen, i would get dominated for the first 10 mins of the game and then eventually claw my way back in and be relevant late game as long as i didn't feed top too hard

lately I've been playing jarvan and sometimes i do well and i can just kick my opponent's ass, but most of the time, i just can't trade with them at all and i end up just getting worn down over and over and over again, then i get behind in farm and i end up getting ganked a few times.

I want to be able to be the lane bully, force them to try and keep me off the creeps but they just can't...any recommendations?

Darius and Jax are both pretty good Lane Bullies. I'm personally loving Irelia, and Yorick is immovable from Lane, but they are both much less (specifically Yorick) aggressive/'lane bully' types.

^Wouldn't call Jax a lane bully. A lot of champs win trades against him before he gets some levels/farm.

Also Nasus and Rumble.

Played right and Kat is a super bully top lane.

I like Zac; though he isn't good against people who are good at keeping up sustained fights

Top, I almost always go Singed.

Be slightly annoying pre-first back, then get catalyst and become one of the most annoying champions, and be almost impossible to bully out of lane.

RoA + Rylai's, and that's enough for almost 4k hp.

Renekton. Easy harass, decent escape (I've escaped Volibears and such with my ult up), overall strong early. Strong beefy guy later on that can peel decently.

It's fun to take an AP mid to top. Champs like Kat and Gragas can work really well there. I once took my lovely Diana top to fight Kha'Zix. It's funny how scared they can be after losing a small trade.

i used to play singed a long time ago back in season 1, considering trying him out again

nasus might be a good choice too

I played teemo again top yesterday and kicked ass with him, went for a fast liandry's against nid and they just couldn't gank me at all
