The real question is whether or not she still takes damage in Karthus Defile or Fiddlesticks Crowstorm during her Rappel. I'd much rather avoid 2 seconds of that then 2 seconds of Drain, if given the choice >__>

She avoids pretty much ANY targeted spell, attack, etc with a well timed Rappel. Damage over time does not count. If you hit a Teemo shroom, get Ignited, etc and use Rappel (or even Vlad's pool) you'll still take the damage over time and die during.

Yep. That is why fiddle is awesome.

It is a channel. Vlad's pool, fizz's jump and Elise's air thing make them untargetable to new attacks, not channels already in progress.

His question was if area of effect dots like Karthus/Fiddle also continue despite being untargetable, like targeted DoTs.

The answer is they do not. If Malzahar drops Null Zone on you and then uses Malefic Visions on your face, if you rappel you will avoid the Null Zone damage but not the Malefic Visions damage, despite them both being DoTs.

And AFAIK the projectile avoid check is on contact rather than on cast... which does make sense, actually.
