Why do people treat this game like a job?

#1ThyCorndogPosted 4/25/2013 8:39:17 AM
As an example, someone might say "get Lulu, become good with Lulu"
Why? I tried her and she didn't 'click' with me. She's an amazing champ, but I'm just not great with her. Why should I play a champion I don't have fun with?

Another example is if I'm deciding between two champs, someone might go "get this third option instead, it's better"
Even though I'm not interested in that one

The game is a lot more fun when you play a champion you want to play

The game is fun for people in different ways.

For me, I dont care what champion I play. I have fun when I win games though.

This is fine in normals. In ranked however you are trying to play the game competitively, and champion selection is a part of that.

I feel you. I main Ziggs and when I pick him in champ select or when I talk about him on GameFAQs, everyone tells me there are plenty of better champions which "fit more" into the meta than he does.

Do I care? No, I play him because I ENJOY playing with him. And I have a 58% win rate with him, so people need to stop complaining.

There's a reason we have such a large champion pool available to us. It's so we can get a champion that fits our play style.

Yeah, but if I'm supporting, I'm going to play a support champion I like to play. I usually pick Sona or Taric. I don't want to play Lulu. If champion selection is so important to my ADC, he can pick one that synergizes with Sona or Taric

Don't you know? People don't play games for fun.

Gaming is serious stuff.

Exactly. I play Kat instead of Akali for my ap assassin. I don't care if Akali is better or if people think she's better.

I also like Ahri and Orianna. I don't like Lux. I don't care if Lux is great or if I'd win more games if I played Lux. I don't enjoy playing Lux, so...

Never listen to an ADC about what support they want. They usually donno wtf they are talking about anyway.

1. If you're playing ranked, you should optimize your pick to generally maximize the team's chance of winning.

2. If you're talking about a normal game, tell them to go **** themselves.

Sidenote: If you want to play Ziggs, tell them you're pr0lly on a smurf account.

My pick to maximize my team's chance of winning is someone I have over 100 games with. I could pick Ziggs and do well with him, or I could pick Ryze and have no idea what I'm doing because I've played him twice in my life.

So who's a better pick? The OP guy or the guy who doesn't fit in the meta? Obviously, it's the champion I'm better with
