Seeking, video card suggestion(real quick)

I know this is not place to ask that, but, im pretty sure my current evga 460gtx just stopped functioning(on board right now), looking for a replacement.

Was thinking about 660gtx(anything beyond this is out of question for my wallet), but, i just want to know if the performance is significantly better, otherwise, i will just get one cheaper, close to my own and spare money.

Thx in advance.

It should be quite a lot better. A lot of things will be improved switching to a 660 over a 460. For about $200, it's going to be your best bet as well, especially if you prefer Nvidia.

For LoL you were probably maxed out in settings with the 460 and will be maxed out with the 660. If all you play is LoL then you can get away with a card for $150 or so. If you play other games, than the 660 is a good option that should run most games on max settings for a while.

It's not only for LoL, but, im just checking here the 650 seems to have a better price in my current situation, the thing is, what happened was sudden, i didn't plan to waste money on upgrades right now, i was happy with the 460gtx, it was providing me what i needed.

How does the 650gtx is compared to the 460? i think i will go a cheaper route and give a real upgrade only when the next gen games start arriving and revealing their specs.

Thx again.

SUPPOSEDLY
When a new generation of NVidia cards is released, the hundreds digit goes up one and the tens digit goes down one for comparable cards. i.e. 460 > 550 > 640 (if there is a 640) would be the same card but two generations newer. So a 660 would be two generations newer and two models up from your current card.

That's what I've heard, anyways. So you can take that into consideration.

It varies, here is two 650's

2GB, 128 bit
Core Clock: 1202 MHz
CUDA Cores: 384
Effective Memory Clock: 5000MHz

2GB, 192 bit
Core Clock: 1072MHz
CUDA Cores: 768
Effective Memory Clock: 5400MHz

Look at these specs as an order of importance if buying for longevity:

memory amount (GB)> interface (bit) > Cuda cores (#)> core clock (MHz)> memory clock (MHZ)

As core clock and memory clock can be modified at a later time.

Also If you plan on using it for a while I would not get a 2GB or less card as some current games already can make use of that amount.
