I'm still confused about why people think he has bad teamfight damage but good 1v1 damage.

So when would you build this and when would you just go for a BT and IE etc....

Build this when you can't count on your team to peel or siege, but need both.

That's what's recommended by a lot of people. It's also why you get a lot of damage complaints from him, imo. I've had better luck with Lizard->Sheen/Tear->IBG->Muramana. Tear stacks stupid fast on Ezreal as is, you don't need much help getting it out the door but you do need the AD fast.

Longsword 2 pots start, generally.

Beats me. Thing is, his DPS will be lower, but since the Cooldown on his Q when it lands is 1.4 seconds or something, and his Q out ranges pretty much anyone's AA range, it means he can keep safe and constantly Q rather than worry about re-positioning. So in practice his DPS is probably higher.

I used to love playing Ezreal, but got a bit bored of him after a while and switched to other ADCs, IBG brought me back to him for a while but I got sick of people complaining when I built it. So this becoming more wide spread is good news for me, means I can start playing Ez again without people complaining.

I prefer the 19/0/11 Masteries, with 6% Life Steal Quints and Dorans start. You are not going to want to be going all in with the enemy if you are going poke Ez anyway, so losing out on a bit of AD for more health, life steal, etc I find works a lot better.

the point of a longsword start os to have lizard on your first buy, 1600 is generally more obtainable, running ls quints and 19/0/11 is odptimal

its a safe opening because generally any other combo of ad items face rolls the components of lizard.
