On the on hand, no more permaslow for those level three ganks.

On the other hand, IBG is now better on him as a result.

Eh, I still have mixed feelings about this.

Tbqh him losing his AoE permaslow hurts his biggest contribution to teamfights in ARAM.

But the trade off for a more potent/spammable shield, it's increased MS, and not having his AS steroid tied to it (albeit lower numbers) seems pretty decent actually.

Also, did they decide to not keep the initial root on ult change? That seemed like fun tbh.

Dammit, I just thought of something I've never even previously considered on him.....
something to do with passive+tiamat+new q's AS steroid and it's short cd......

I feel like they could afford to bring the damage numbers on Q up a little, tbh.

haven't actually gone on to test it, granted.

They should do comparisons of last PBE patch to current PBE patch and live to PBE. Easier to keep track of what's truly nerfed/buffed and changed/reverted

I'll say what I said in another Skarner topic.

AS no longer being tied to his shield is a massive boon to his jungling. It will speed him up considerably and what you'll lose in early ganks from permaslow, you'll gain in getting IBG faster and having red buff for ganks longer (less time wasted on clears). You'll have to drop a point in E for the slow and the increased attack speed on Q helps the CD on that as well. It all adds up to substantially lower cooldowns on his abilities across the board.

So I'm not bothered by the loss of permaslow. E will be up often enough to be a factor and I'll take a ranged slow on my favorite scorpion as compensation.

Unpopular and possibly off opinion time!

First, let's start by pointing out I haven't played Skarner in a while but he's still the same on live now as the last time I played him.

I feel like his only skill that really got buffed was E.

His Q no longer permaslows, his W now gives him a TIMED speed boost that still breaks if the shield breaks instead of persisting as long as the shield is up and no longer gives a large amount of AS; instead they shifted it to a smaller amount that has to ramp up on Q. His passive and ult were unchanged unless they've made it so he instantly roots people now with R.

The line skill shot slow on E to make it a usable skill is nice but I feel he gave up too much for it.
