The problem with new Skarner...

I mained skarner in Season 2 until I found the majesty that was the war pony, who fits my plastyle quite a bit better, but...

New skarner looks pretty great. With old skarner the way he was, he could only punish overextending and a lack of warding throughout all of lane phase. Counterganks (which usually were ganks already gone bad) were where he excelled, as well as counterjungling or countering counter jungling (Permaslow meant he could keep the jungler pinned down till mid showed up for the 2v2, at least from my experience)


The new skillshot slow means he can catch you without having to actually catch you... Movespeed boost helps with this immensely.


The main thing with skarner is that his Q used to be a permaslow, IBG added tons o damage and another slow, and with Randuin's (generally core on him) your entire team was slowed for about 3-4 seconds on average. Q's let you throw that around to multiple people, Qing one champ and then IBGing another. 2 divers, slowed to the point of easy kiting for any ADC or APC. You could grab a third with your ult...

When 1 champ nills out 3 divers with great play, that's rough to come back from. Granted, there's plenty of ways to get away from skarner, but not every champ has those options or wants to use them JUST to get away from a skarner slow in one teamfight...


Pre-6 I feel his ganks will be much better, post 6 I feel they'll be worse until you get some items under your belt.. Teamfighting I feel he'll be MUCH better.

Probably because you can't build Tri Force without "gimping" yourself anymore.

Really? From my playtesting I feel Skarner's worse pre-6. That E slow doesn't hold a candle to his permaslow.

His teamfighting might actually be worse now. Most people think the old E was useless but come mid-late game it's great for outlasting enemies in extended fights. The new damage numbers might compensate for that though.
