So dissapoint.

That's not what he says at all, though <_< Sounds more like more like "so-ho-ryon" to me.

I'm not a native Japanese speaker but I have been studying. I'm pretty sure soko da just means "there". If you play a game like Naruto in Japanese you will hear the same thing both in Japanese in English. "Soko da!" "There". Usually when they throw shuriken. (geez im a nerd)

When does he use it?

Leaves from the vine, falling so slow, like fragile tiny shells drifting in the foam.
Mako will forever be missed.

I don't think he does. The sound he's referring to is probably the one that - at least to me - sounds like "hasagi".

Here's all his sound clips without background noise.

I've studied enough Japanese to say that I'm about 80% sure that none of his quotes are Japanese.

Q3 is when he uses it.

Also, I could be very wrong about RASENGI, I have to hear it with just the audio clips. It's harder to hear in game.

At work right now, will check in 2.5 hours

Except he's not from Earth so he isn't Japanese. He's from Runeterra, there is no Japan in Runeterra.

Aside from that, since when does someone's name determine the words they say? I myself have a German name but I was born in Canada and I speak English. Did I just blow your mind?

I <3 internet logic

Yasuo is a japanese name, confirmed by devs. Much like how Wukong has a cohesive Chinese Sun Wukong theme along with his appearance, quotes, story and character in general.

It's a character with a 2 paragraph story, he doesn't have enough space for a deep multi-cultural and thematic influencing past. Runeterra's character themes (other than yordle) are based off of real life, and it would be straight ******ed to have a character randomly have different thematic inconsistencies when the rest are coherent.

Basic character theme-ing and archetype-ing 101. Did I just blow your mind?

Hi, I'm double majoring in Linguistics and Asian Marketing and Studies. Walker's is the most accurate interpretation of Yasuo and his dialogue.

Just making a correction, nothing he says is Japanese or Korean. Again, his foreign dialogue only mimics cultures from real life. The closest similarity to his phrases are Japanese, not Korean.

For sake of cultural consistency, I will use romanization typical for Japanese.

- On his Q's final active, the word/phrase is "aseryou".

- The phrase that was mistaken for "rasengi" is actually "hasagi".

- For whatever event triggers these phrases, the only other distinguishable phrases are "don" and "churyuon".

Iterating. Yasuo is only Japanese in name, style, and concept. Nothing is distinguishable for Korean.
