Apart from Flash, what is the best summoner spell to escape a gank?

So I like playing mid with two low-mobility champions (Mordekaiser and Swain). I like to play defensively and just farm since both are good at late-game teamfights. So I usually don't take Ignite and instead try to focus on defensive summoner spells.

Ganks tend to be a big problem; I always ward both sides but sometimes Hecarim or Rammus just come too fast, or Evelynn stealthes past my wards, or Lee Sin finds a way to gank me through wards and kick my face.

What are the best summoner spells to survive ganks? I always take Flash, but I'm not sure about the second one. Barrier (to survive)? Cleanse (to get rid of jungler CC)? Ghost (to run away)? Exhaust (to slow the jungler)?

Barrier, because, it will help you survive ganks and will also help you win some 1 v 1 fights.

Don't need ghost and flash imo waste on a mid

Exhaust won't help you in a 1 v 1 situation (as much as barrier)

Cleanse is viable but, I would still prefer barrier

Just the opposite. Exhaust kills one source of dps, barrier is better in a gank, exhaust is much better in 1v1.


I swain with Ghost\Exhaust. Ghost will get you away from junglers just fine (unless you're cc dead, in which case flash won't help you) and has a much shorter cd. Exaust either breaks an opponents pursuit defensively or slows them so your R can eat their faces longer offensively. Exaust also keeps you in the middle of them longer than flash for later teambattles.
