Is it ok to abandon your adc in lane?

If they're playing like garbage then of course it is. Of course it could also be argued that your jungler is also garbage in that case for letting it get that bad in the first place instead of camping bot to help out.

It definitely can not be argued that it is the jungler's fault a lane lost especially without enemy jungler interference

No, it can't be argued. It's an absolute truth, it's always the jungler's fault :)

Even if the adc's stupid, it's generally not proper etiquette for you to leave him.

Mainly because you then make it a 2v1 and end up feeding the enemy adc, while you make top lane 1v2 which allows the enemy top laner to level up faster.

well the same can be aplied to your adc leaveling up faster and enemy top will be 2v1 feeding your top

When was the last time you saw a support abandoning their adc at bot lane just because their adc went behind in cs... in a high elo game. I honestly cannot recall a relevant time when this happened. Roamed to jungle, left to ward near mid lane, went during a timing to help mid lane do something, when strategically holding bot lane with an adc that could zone out his two weaker opponents, yes, but never abandoned simply because the support thought the adc was bad. High elo games, even when the adc goes 0/4 in lane and is 40 cs behind the support will stay.

When was the last time you heard this suggestion of abandoning your adc come from unranked, bronze, and silver players? Yeah, every other day here on gamefaqs a bunch of low elo players come in here and talk about how they win games by roaming as the support or by leaving bot lane and going to help mid lane snowball instead or something stupid like that.

In all fairness against a lane like Blitz, Thresh or Leona you can body block there respected engages for the ADC. Not saying it is your fault though because the ADC could have sat behind minions to avoid the grab.

It was fine abandoning him.

Remember if he sucking and feeding, after a few deaths he's worth like 50g anyways.

If you stay there, all thats going to happen is that unless your jungler comes in and gets a decent gank off, they'll bully, push you to turret then just dive your asses.

Just roam around and help the other lanes get kills.

I love to body block, but even at level 1-3, it's pretty much death or a burnt flash. There's only so many times you can body block for someone before their adc gets fed.
