Not getting why people hate this game

#1WeaverSerawlPosted 4/11/2012 9:25:45 AM
Played all three, I like this one the best... Not too far in, but I'm not seeing what's so offense outside of "No Tramp Stamps" and "Can't Save Characters In Plastic Surgeon"

This game is awesome, why do people not like it? So far all I've heard is "It's not realistic!"... that's... kind of... why this game is so awesome.

There are tramp stamps :). I know cuz I used me first character (woman) who had double D boobs to get one :) she went from classy to trashy in 2 minutes haha. Also got her the nipple cover stickers. For your question (why do people hate this game?) answer: cuz they expect every game ever made by every developer to meet their every need and EVER EVER EVER what ever they want all the time. Ever lol. There's not alot of games I complain about, mainly cuz I don't expect everything to meet my exact thoughts. Do I wish every game had R3 as run/sprint? Yes. Does it keep me from enjoying Resident evil 5? Hell no.

Pros:
*Improved gunplay
*Improved driving physics
*Better graphics
*Less pauses in co-op
*Better hand-to-hand fighting

Cons
*Inferior story
*Dull characters
*Inferior city design
*Less colorful overall
*Boring gun selection
*Stupid gun upgrade system
*No real weapon customization
*Less guns overall
*Only a handful of melee weapons compare to SR2's gazillion melee weapons
*Less vehicles
*Can't find improvised melee weapons on the ground anymore
*No more food/pot/alcohol slots
*No hidden areas
*Barely any interiors
*Most interiors have the same exact look
*Clothing customization took huge step back
*Vehicle customization didn't get many new options
*Still no boat/helicopter/plane customization
*Removed fun activities and diversions for no valid reason
*No mission replay option
*No watch cutscenes any time you want option
*Overall world is less alive; no random events like barbershop quartets and cheerleader squads

Did I get everything? I'm sure I'm missing more cons, lol.

I don't hate 3 I just don't think it's as fun as 2, for many of the reasons that were already listed. Another con that was missed was the music selections. 3 only has 3 or 4 good songs IMO compared to my playlist on 2 which has about 20. As a standalone game Saint's Row 3 is a very good game, but as a follow up to 2 it's a bit of a step back.

I agree. SR3 by itself was still a fun game, but compared to 2...

Because compared to other games in the genre it's not very good. I mean unless the floppy phallic s*** and adjustable junk size does it for you. The writing was awful and the entire thing kind of makes video games in general look childish... If it was ACTUALLY a child's game it'd be one thing but this s*** is marked for adults to buy. You want a reason video games aren't considered an art form by the media, look no further than this hail of schlong. I might have enjoyed it more when I was 13 and didn't care so much about substance as cheap laughs and s***. The kind of stuff this game provides.

Well, I wouldn't say the reason SR3 isn't as good as most other sandbox games (esp. SR2) is because it's silly. I'd say it's mostly because of the dull, lifeless city that offers very little for the player to see or do.

Also yeah, the story was awful. Eugh.
