Awesome-ize my team (spoilers?)

Scrolls give 120% aptitude aside from A rank in that weapon.
They were very useful for training my thief, who used fists.

Angels are nice, but are very average in terms of stats. I find they are better as high mobility item worlders. You'd be better served by making a Galaxy Skull with every spell, taking advantage of their ability to level them fast.
Only switch to celestial host once you've unlocked the last tier, if at all.

I may need to get a s***load of Gency's Exits and go felony grinding...

Do that while gathering specialists, you'll want armsmasters (at least 1 level 1900), professionals (level 100), possibly mentors too. And of course, Lovers. You can even use this opportunity to get the Pirate Maps (if you don't have them) and some nice Legendary r39 stuff.

All right, I'll see about working on professionals, since my thief is almost at winged slayer level and I'm not planning to make a new character, so armsmasters may not be needed anymore (unless they are for a reason I'm not aware of, which is entirely possible). I have four pirate maps so far, but I haven't delved too deeply into the item world yet, so probably won't see the rest for a bit.

And I'm working on the galaxy skull/mage thing. Ditto for the last tier of the celestial hosts. I actually just made a new character for each tier and got them leveled in CoO4 with bonus EXP and tower attacks. Good stuff.

You'll still need Armsmasters in the future because you'll want 255 weapon mastery.

Oh yeah...armsmasters it is, then.

A couple questions. First, is there any reason for me to be hanging around in Axel mode, or should I just blast past it and go back to Adell? Also, when visiting the item world assembly in innocence town, should I just go for the attack boosts or is there some formula to follow?

Breeze through Axel Mode, you really aren't missing much, and the stages in comparison to Adell Mode are very short and uneventful. There's absolutely nothing you can get in Axel Mode that you can't in Adell Mode, apart from usage of Axel/Main Character B/Actress/Pink outside of the LoC.

In the Item World Assembly, always go for the boosts which correspond with the Innocents that you have stacked in the item. This will usually be Attack/Intelligence/whatever your main offensive stat is. In general, though, yeah, always go for Attack boosts with an offensive melee character. ALWAYS pass the same bill as many times as you can - don't try to split it up if you're, say, using a bow-user and want to boost both Attack and Hit. The loss of overall stats makes it not worth it.

All right, I'll get through it and back to Adell. I like Adell better anyway, Axel's a tool.

Well if you want more Accelerators, you do. Same goes for Gordon, you'll need 6 every time you want to unlock him.
