beebarbPosted 9/16/2012 1:51:38 AM (edited) | Is this possible?
The reason I ask is I am starting a new game, I answer all the questions with the appropriate answers to get Pikachu, yet the annoying thing doesn't give it to me. Been trying for the past 30 minutes or so.
Is there an AR code that will force the situation???
Edit: Nearly an hour and still no desirable result. --- What the?! Who's There?! White FC: 0862-2660-4156 / 3DS FC: 2492-4470-1418 |

Edit Resolved, still very annoying. They should've allowed us to choose which starter we wanted, instead of the stupid quiz. --- What the?! Who's There?! White FC: 0862-2660-4156 / 3DS FC: 2492-4470-1418 |
FefnirOmega13Posted 9/16/2012 5:47:31 AM | You could use the FAQ by Sonictrainer. Pretty easy enough to follow. --- Bullet Hell fan, Cave and Touhou lover. <3 Patchouli Knowledge. Playing: DeathSmiles, Fire Emblem 8, Rune Factory 3, Digimon World Dawn, Tales of Vesperia |
beebarb (Topic Creator) Posted 9/16/2012 6:35:16 AM | That's what I was doing, the stupid game just wasn't giving me the right questions for far too frustratingly long. --- What the?! Who's There?! White FC: 0862-2660-4156 / 3DS FC: 2492-4470-1418 |
FefnirOmega13Posted 9/16/2012 7:13:21 AM | Ah, fair enough. --- Bullet Hell fan, Cave and Touhou lover. <3 Patchouli Knowledge. Playing: DeathSmiles, Fire Emblem 8, Rune Factory 3, Digimon World Dawn, Tales of Vesperia |
AngelPeachPosted 9/16/2012 7:37:07 AM | You think this is bad? Try getting Naive in the Rescue Team quiz. There are barely enough answers to even get it, unlike some other ones, so you have to be more lucky. While I only played as Eevee once in the Rescue Team games, I felt sorry for Eevee players because getting Naive is such a chore in the Rescue Team games. Thankfully, getting Jolly in Sky is so much easier.
As for getting Pikachu, I have gotten it a few times without trouble, but there is a small trick to the quiz in Sky. The first question is always whether you have played Time or Darkness. While it does give you a boost in recruiting, so I've read, you should say no, if you don't want it to force you down a certain road. For some reason, saying yes makes getting Riolu, Phanphy, Shinx, Vulpix, Eevee and Skitty much easier. Considering you never said who you kept getting, I have no idea if this was the problem. It's far from impossible if you do say yes, it's just luck of the draw.
And yes, I'll agree that it is annoying. I wish they had made it a bit easier to get the one you want, since those questions do come out randomly. Here's another little tip though. If you can, and if the questions allow it, spread out your answers. Always pick the answer for the one you want, and during times when the answer isn't what you need, spread it out to the different personalities. If you do it just right, and if the quiz was nice enough to give you the right questions, you should get who you want. |
FlamingCheetahPosted 9/16/2012 5:28:15 PM | Huh. I got Pikachu the very first time I tried that quiz and twice after that (I was trying to get a Chimchar). The FAQ is really your best bet. |
Earth_EchidnaPosted 9/16/2012 10:53:01 PM | This is pretty much the same that happened to me when I was trying to get Vulpix. And I didn't use a guide either. --- Pokemon SoulSilver FC: 1335 1407 6427 When Life gives you lemons, throw them back and demand cookies instead! |

I actually got Eevee on my first play of Mystery Dungeon Red. I was quite pleased. When I tried to play the game again a few years later, it was then that I realized how lucky I was. |
