It doesn't much matter where I am, what in specific I am doing, or whether or not the planets are in alignment, but everything but the HUD will just mysteriously go black.

If I don't move, it wont stop, if I do move, it gets pretty flickery and winds up running fine.
The problem, obviously, is that when I see someone, and someone sees me, the person who isn't suddenly experiencing complete vision loss will probably be the one walking away.

I'm running on a Geforce 9800GT, Win 7 64 bit, 5120mb ram, phenom quad core 2.2ghz, and the games actually at medium everything for that extra smooth shooting experience. video drivers are as up to date as steam has.

Solutions? Known problem? GPU melting?

Having the same problem here. Not sure what's causing it. Hoping I'll be able to fix it, because I've had my fair share of deaths because of it.

I've had the screen randomly flicker black a few times myself. It hasn't caused a problem for me but it gets annoying sometimes.

I get this myself on a gtx 285. From what I've read, most people seem to think it's a bloom/dx10 issue. I never tried changing either setting myself, since it USUALLY doesn't get me killed, but you can try turning off bloom in the .ini file as a start to see if the problem still persists.

I had this happen before, it stopped happening after I turned Catalyst AI off before playing BC2.

Same happenings for me.. I get it mostly when I am near an object like the side of a house or a large crate.

I get flickers on my GTX 285 card as well. From what I've read in other topics it seems to be an issue with nvidia cards and issues on their end, not ours.
