worth it?

Just bought it, getting it in the mail in the next 3-5 days, was wondering if I made a good choice? I played 1's demo and loved it, but was told to skip it due to awful controls (dear god) and awful AI (?)
Thanks in advance.

I honestly loved DR1 more than DR2. The only thing that is bad in DR1 is the AI but that is what makes the game great IMHO.

In DR2 the survivors are so neglible that you don't even have to watch what they are doing and they will be fine. Defeats the purpose of escorting survivors if they never get into harms way. But I will say the physical skills ars better in DR1 as there are too many single target skills in DR2.

It is a good game though with lots to do and lots of replayability in both games. And some great weapon ideas that are fun and interesting to use against zombies. Vs psychos only a few are good as you would expect aginast bosses. Also you can do co-op with a buddy and have a blast killing zombies or doing cases.

I was obsessed with this game when I first got it. Lots of fun, the combo weapons are great. Give the first game a chance, though. It should be cheap and it's basically the last time Capcom wasn't being a stupid jerk.

Yeah last I saw it was 4-5 USD used. Good luck finding a new copy.

Not everyone is a super hardcore player. Casuals can be turned off by the difficulty of the AI. I myself thought DR1's AI was a great challenge but I can see why many people would get quickly frustrated by it.

Not every game is made for everyone. And a game shouldn't be made to suit everyone either otherwise it tries to do too much and will fail. The game has a learning curve like anything else, once you figure it out its pretty straight forward how to manage everything at once.

I mean look at games like dark souls or demon souls, both hard games but praised because of the challenge. There are games that are made to test how well you can play and there are games that are made to be so ridiculously easy a 6 year old can do it, such as fable 3 or mario.
I personally don't care for timed based missions for the most part but this game does it well and makes it very managable to do so. Vs other games that just put a time clock in for a mission just to do it.

Too bad casual gamers are the majority of the market and every company wants a profit especially I'm this knee deep sink of an economy that even has "money grubber" Microsoft with losses.
