He's a badass. A little TOO badass, if ya know what I'm saying. So I'm gonna try and get Cass instead. The game was challenging before, but it isn't really now anymore. But I want to be able to get him back eventually. Can I tell him to wait at the motel (my safehouse) and then fire him and he'll be still there...or...what's the dealio?

That's not how firing a companion works. They'll go back to a designated spot. In Boone's case, he'll go back to his motel room. --- Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 Collectibles Guide: http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/960495-lego-harry-potter-years-1-4/faqs/60378

Nice, and Cass will be at the outpost drinking herself into a bloody stupor again? If so, then the next time I play, Boone's gonna get layed off.

Yeah, just tell him you want to part company and he will wait back in Novac. --- Adversity introduces a man to himself.

Also of note is if you've gained access to the Lucky 38 suite, you can alternatively send companions there.
Companions can be fired and re-hired at any time (as long as you have room) with no negative consequences. --- Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4 Collectibles Guide: http://www.gamefaqs.com/xbox360/960495-lego-harry-potter-years-1-4/faqs/60378
