Cannibalism?

I'm considering taking this perk, and possibly Ghastly Scavenger, for a future hardcore mode character. According to the wiki, you get 25 health for eating from a human character, and 50 health from eating from a super mutant or ghoul, and the health gain is instantaneous rather than over-time like most food. The option to take free non-rad food from any killed enemy is also pretty great.

However, I also saw this on the wiki, under Cannibal:

In Fallout: New Vegas, there is a second Challenge Perk tied to Cannibalism, called "Meat of Champions". The player gains Mr. House's Luck, Caesar's Intelligence, The King's Charisma, and President Kimball's Strength whenever he or she committed an act of Cannibalism. The perk is initially gained by consuming each of the mentioned persons.

Now, I'm not sure if I understand this perfectly, but my interpretation is that after eating from the corpses of these four people, you'll gain a +1 to Luck, Intelligence, Charisma and Strength for a short time every time you eat from a corpse from that point on?

Also, does eating from corpses count towards the Desert Survivalist trophy? (10,000pts healed through food)

I assume the Human Remains do count towards it.

I like the perk. So what about -karma ? It doesn't make the factions hate you as much as doing missions against them or attacking them. It comes in handy too when you run outta food but have alot of Powderpuff Ganger corpses around... I have eaten Caesar and the King and I didn't get that 1+ perk. Maybe due to a glitch. I'm Very Evil with a Sword of Despair or something from eating people and stealing, yet I'm idolized by the Boomers,NCR,and Freeside. So get the perk and the Ghastly Scavenger too! You won't be sorry you did.

Based on the Perk description anyway. And it sounds like it's only a temp bonus.

That's a cool aspect to the perk. So if you eat all those high profile targets you gain a +1 to many SPECIAL every time you feast! nice

This is my rationale : When I'm low on food and aid,and bodies of my victims are bountiful... What's more immediately important and what's important in the long run ? Bad karma doesn't mean what it did in 3.You have the offense of factions, rewards of factions factoring in. So I just dine and dash.

I imagine Bethesda's Quality Testing Department a big, dusty room filled with cobwebs, and a chimp wearing a Fez banging on the keyboard of a single computer...

^No, cannibalism doesn't count count towards the 10,000 survivalist trophy. My character is a hardcore cannibal -

spoiler

If you do take that perk, and you can successfully eat - ceasar, mr. house, the king, and president kimbell you get a secret perk that allows you to receive stat increases after you eat a corpse - it gave me the luck boost to finish that casino winnings trophy
Also it makes you idolized by the white glove society
