Walking Slow?

#1TremendusGrowthPosted 10/20/2010 11:50:15 AM
I was playing crouching around a house to be sneaky (like a ninja) and when I stood back up I'm still moving at the speed I do when I'm crouched. I restarted the game and it did not fix the problem anybody have any suggestions on how to fix this.

You are either over your carrying amount, or have a crippled limb.

with default controls, caps lock toggles between run and walk.

Hehehee. The first thing I always do in any game is change around key bindings. I SO VERY VERY VERY VERY HATE WASD movement. The hand is way to cramped up to play that way. I use a totally different setup: forward is left mouse back is right mouse, strafe left is A right is S. D is usually activate item or block, F is attack, G is alt attack/grenade. and that leaves around 9 other binds 1 key distance away from a normal left hand placement on a keyboard. I have used this setup since around when Doom or doom 2 came out I forget which.

Wow, weird. I couldn't imagine moving with the mouse.

....strafe left is A right is S.

But that just makes your hand more cramped. :I

How so? ASDF is the normal placement for your hand on a keyboard. pinky does A the one next to it S index finger is D and pointer is F

WASD is for suckers. EWDR is where it's at (E forward, W strafe left, R strafe right, D backwards). If anyone has ever taken a typing class you'll see it pretty much lines up with the "home row", and it allows more space for binding keys than WASD.

It's like when old ass games in the 80's would use IJKL for movements, you didn't move the mouse so you used your right hand, and those keys are pretty much in line with the home row too.
