There was someone else who asked about mods a little while back in this topic.

http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/959559-fallout-new-vegas/62947670

I gave a fairly large list and a few other people contributed as well. See if there is anything that sounds good there.

As for "Must Haves"? The Weapons Mods Expanded mod that I mentioned in the above topic is a must have for me. The Weapon Mod Menu goes perfectly with that mod, so that one too. If you find yourself running out of inventory space constantly, Blackwolf's Backpack mod is nice. New Vegas Bounties is a great mod if you like doing bounty hunts, plus it has it's own story and a few unique items.

If you like making your character more unique (or broken/overpowered depending on your view on it) Perk every level, Expanded Traits+ Unlimited Traits+ More Perks/ For Companions+ Snow Globe Perks+ More rewarding challenges mods all offer more in the way of leveling/ creating your character. If you'd rather not make your character have tons of perks and traits, you can probably skip this list, though I would still recommend at least looking at the More perks and Expanded Traits mods since all they do is add new ones.

I hope between these two lists that you find some mods worth getting. Most of them that I have listed are mods that I can't see myself doing without, so at least look into a few of them. Feel free to ask me if you have any questions about any of them or anything else.

No problem; glad I could help. Here's a list that helped me when I was first modding this game that has a few good mods I forgot to mention, like a better third person camera.

http://www.pcgamer.com/2010/11/02/25-best-fallout-new-vegas-mods/

Also, check out New Vegas Nexus sometime, if you have not already. I don't know how familiar you are with using mods, but I'll say this anyways. "Be very careful to avoid conflicts." All of the mods I listed in both of my lists are in my load order this minute, so they are safe together. Just pay attention to what you are downloading and you should be fine.

Also, since I forgot it the last two times-

CONELRAD Radio. If you are ready to go and find Mr. New Vegas' radio station (I can see some issues with that already =D), taking all of the Johnny Guitar holotapes, going to REPCONN, and launching them into the sun on a rocket filled with mini nukes; this is a nice mod that adds a new station with tons of songs.

Hope you enjoy some of those mods.

Haven't seen it mentioned, but if your PC is capable, you should try NMC's Texture Pack or Ojo/Paco Bueno. New Vegas Skies, Electrocity, Imaginator, Powered Power Armor, and EVE are also pretty good.
