Is there anyway to link Fallout New Vegas with 3?

I'd like to play both games in the New Vegas engine, but I didn't see a mod that linked the two. I have both games, and I'd like to play New Vegas with the ability to go back in 3. Is it possible, or not so much?

How exactly does this work? Do I use the same character between worlds? But then how would leveling and perks work? What about items? Mods? If everything stays independent, what's the point of using this other than to save 10 seconds from not having to load up a seperate game?

Also, isn't running an older game in an updated engine just asking to break things? What's the difference between the Fo3 & NV engines anyway (I thought they were the same)? So many questions the FAQ doesn't answer.

it puts fo3 in the fnv gameworld linked via sewer grate or some other nonobtrusive thing. Most mods work. Leveling and perks are NV. Items are from both. Why would you think they're independent? That makes no sense.

It normally would break things, hence why there's a project to combine them. The engines are similar but not the same. FNV features many things FO3 never did, so if you wanted to play an FO3 exclusive playthrough in the FNV engine go for it.

Do some googlin' next time.

I totally forgot about this mod I remember when they first started it out I never tried I was gonna hold off. Then I stopped playing NV forgot about this mod. I just reinstalled NV and about 120+ mods, sorta wish I had remembered this befor installing so many I doubt they would all be able to work. I might try it anyway I haven't actually started the playthrough yet

If I use that mod will Fallout 3 have the mods I installed in use? For example for FO3 there's a mod that opens up lotsa buildings, if I use two Wastelands will it still work?
