This is the Serebii PokÚDex http://serebii.net/pokedex-dp/

I would say train Nidorino until you have all the moves you want that Nidoking cannot learn. Then Evolve him

I'd say level 43 is the magic number. Nidorino learns Poison Jab (80Pwr/100Acc) at 43, which is one of the strongest poison type attacks. Similarly, Nidoking learns Earth Power (90Pwr/100Acc) also at level 43. Both moves get Stab, and because they are learned at different evolutions, you'll have to choose one or the other.

You don't have to wait that long of course. The majority of Ground and Poison types run Earthquake and Sludge Bomb, which are TMs, so you can always teach those to your Nidoking later.

What I recommend is evolve your Nidorino sometime before level 23 and Nidoking will learn Thrash instead. Then you can teach it Earthquake and Sludge Bomb later. You'll probably find those TMs before Nidorino would get to level 43 anyway.

Ummm NO!

2 options

1) Use the Moon Stone at Level 43 after it Learns Poison Jab, When it Evolves it will automatically try to learn Earth Power
2) If you use the Moon Stone at a higher level you can immediately use the Move Relearner in Blackthorn to learn Earth Power

Either way Nidoking can have BOTH Poison Jab and Earth Power

Lol,wrong. Poison Jab is a TM. There's no need to wait that long since you can just teach it LMAO.

LMAO

As for Nidoking being able to learn both moves, didn't know that since I've never tried.

You can wait until level 35, when Nidorino learns Toxic Spikes. It works for a battle against a trainer. It's a decent move for Nidoking, if you need a 4th move and you don't want to spend any other TMs on him.
