How to give my pokemon a nickname SS

hey, i had some new pokemon. But i want to give them a nickname, it is said to be at the namerater in Goldenrod. But he does only rate my name, i can not change it. The pokemon i want to give nicknames are all of my own ( my OT) what's wrong?

Having the same name isn't good enough - the Trainer ID number must match your too.

but if i hatched the egg in my game, you're saying that still isn't good enough?

he said, hello im the official name rater. want me to rate.. blabla. I chose yes and than i can choose whiche pokemon to rate names. and than i choose and he tells me someting about what he thinks of my pokemons name. and than Take good care of 'pokemon'

Also when i choose no it he just sais goodbye, nothing about renaming my poke

Are you absolutely sure the Pokemon you're trying to nickname has the name and Trainer ID number of the current game you're playing? Because that's the message you get when you try to nickname a Pokemon that doesn't belong to your current game.

Also, what Pokemon is it anyway? And have you ever given it to anyone else before?

It's a Scizor, and i did everything myself. Made & hatched the egg. I wanted to name him Red Lightning due the Episode of that scizor in pokemon. but i seems they won't let me, i just don't get the problem. I tried with more pokemon , but he won't let me name any pokemon

Who did you trade it to, to evolve it?

Also, catch a random Pokemon in the wild right now and try nicknaming it. If it doesn't work, copy word for word, what he says.

oh usagi, maybe you're right. Because i had to trade it to evolve it.
Lucky enough i traded it with myself :D 2ds's so ill try nicknaming it on my other game. Thanks
