I think avoiding means the attack missed due to an evasion boost, whereas a loss in accuracy/missing an inaccurate move means missing.

Isn't it to do with your accuracy and their evasion?
Your acc fails = miss Your acc succeeds, their evasion also succeeds = avoided? --- Trainer name: Lucas Friend code: 1075 6870 2723

"Avoided the attack" means the evasiveness of the enemy pokémon is high. "Missed" means your pokémon's accuracy is low. --- Did the Freezeflame Galaxy freeze over?

One is based on accuracy and the other on evasiveness? --- Nintendo really knows what gamers want, and they firmly believe gamers don't know what gamers want

"Avoided the attack" is when the move targets more than one Pokemon. "Missed" is when it targets just one Pokemon. --- CRAYON SODA

"Avoided the attack" is when the move targets more than one Pokemon. "Missed" is when it targets just one Pokemon.
This is correct. It has nothing to do with accuracy or evasiveness.
If the move that was used targets more than one Pokemon in 2v2 battles, it will say "(Target) avoided the attack!". If it only targets one Pokemon in 2v2, it will say "(User)'s attack missed!". This happens even in 1v1 battles now, for some reason. --- Remix? Contrary to popular belief, I do, in fact, exist.

What is the difference between "avoided the attack!" and "missed!"
