Advice for catching Entei/Raikou?

#1SirAnonymousPosted 10/31/2009 8:32:03 PM
Hi everyone.

I was wondering, does anyone have any advice for catching Entei/Raikou?
When I got into battle I used a move to put it to sleep immediately, but even then it still managed to run away it's first turn. Is using Quick Ball the best for catching them?

Thanks in advance.

Baton Pass Umbreon + Thunder Wave Electrode/Sleep move or Thunder Wave Mr. Mime.

Open with Umbreon using Mean Look to stop running, then BP to Electrode or Mr. Mime to block the inevitable Roar with Soundproof. Next turn use the status move and proceed to weaken/capture like any other legendary.

Note that Umbreon does need to be faster than Entei and Raikou for this to work, so will need to be a high level. Or holding a Quick Claw. Only needs to activate the first turn, since Riar forces them to go last on the second.

Or you could just have a Dugtrio with Arena Trap in your party and switch to it immediately upon encountering. Just make sure it isn't KOd.

Roar will still force Dugtrio to run.

You need a Soundproof Pokemon to block Roar, and Mean Look/Spider Web to stop them running.

Block.

Again, Roar. And nothing with Block can Baton Pass, besides Smeargle.

Save , use master ball on one of them if it has decent stats/nature keep it. if not but you still want it reset the game and start the battle with crobat. it can learn mean look and hypnosis so as long as you use hypnosis before it uses roar everything is fine. If you however get roared before it sleeps be sure to have only pokemon with mean look/arena trap and high speed in your team that way if you get roared something that can take crobat's place will come out for sure

There's more than one Legendary Beast. >.> Unless he just wants to catch one. Personally, Lucis_Ferre's strategies are the best. Go with those.
