Question about Breeding, IVs and Natures

#1caboose312Posted 4/21/2010 9:35:35 AM
Can someone tell me if I'm doing.
I want to breed the following
Scyther
Adamant Nature
MAX Attack IV
MAX Speed IV

I have a Scyther and a Ditto (Max IVs Only on the Ditto)

Please let me know if I'm doing the following wrong.

1. Breed Scyther and Ditto (holding Power Bracer)
2. Breed until I get a Scyther with characteristic (likes to Thrash about, name Scyther2)
3. Breed Scyther2 (Holding Power Bracer) and Ditto (Holding Power Ankle). We will call this new baby Scyther, Scyther3. Scyther 3 must have characteristic ("Likes to thrash about" or "Alert to sounds")

Now that I have a Scyther with Max IV Attack and Speed, how do I get a scyther to have Adamant Nature.

Is there a fast way to get Max IV Attack/Speed and Adamant nature? Or do I have to keep hatching eggs until I get one with adamant/technician.

If you're using two power items, all you can do is wait for the Nature and Ability to line up.

On the plus side, if you are powering 31 Atk and 31 Spd, it's ALWAYS gonna pass those down.

It's probably best to use the power items, but it could be a while still before you find an adamant technician.

There are 2 ways to do.

1) Breed till you get Scyther with both Max. Atk and Max. Speed.

2) Replace one of the Power Items on the female Scyther or Ditto that has the Nature Adamant, give it Everstone. This way the Nature will have a 50% chance of passing down. BUT you will have to leave one of the IVs to luck.

Clarification on my post:

Step 3 will involve breeding the two power item holders until you get an Adamant/Technician Scyther. That's all you can do as far as I know.

Thank you very much for the help. I didn't realize breeding was hardcore business.
I have 2 boxes of egg move scythers but none are adamant/technician... sigh...

Make sure you check the IV of the final baby, using two Power items doesn't always pass down 2 IVs
