just imagine yourself flipping a coin: heads or tails?

you have a 50/50% chance of getting it or not getting.

now, replace those 50/50% chance with 0/0% + 1.

so now you have a coin with each side giving you 1% chance of finding a shiny.

since it's two sided, you have 2% so that just means you have to flip 65655 times to get your shiny. Even so, after flipping the coin 65655 times, it doesnt mean you'll get it, you just have to try another set of 65655 to try to get it. :D
