just imagine yourself flipping a coin: heads or tails?

you have a 50/50% chance of getting it or not getting.

now, replace those 50/50% chance with 0/0% + 1.

so now you have a coin with each side giving you 1% chance of finding a shiny.

since it's two sided, you have 2% so that just means you have to flip 65655 times to get your shiny. Even so, after flipping the coin 65655 times, it doesnt mean you'll get it, you just have to try another set of 65655 to try to get it. :D

I remember that i had one, but when it came, two was there, then three was nowhere to be find with four, but five and six was like nine dude, and eight seven :\

There is absolutely no average. It's pure luck. I got a shiny lugia in about 4 hours and my friend took about 4 weeks.

In theory, every pokemon you saw could be shiny. You could also play every minute of every day for the next year, constantly battling randoms and never ever see one.

There is no average.

A shiny will probably take about 5000 SR's to get if you can SR for it.
Otherwise it's a 1/8192 chance

I got a shiny Ho-oh on my first try and I wasn't even thinking about SR'ing for it.

Usually you'll get it when you least suspect it instead of when you are putting a
lot of work and effort into it. Luckily, I had my Master ball and I used it to get a
guaranteed Shiny Ho-oh.

Had a hasty nature, but that doesn't matter too much.

Dedicate a couple hours a day if you're trying to get a really good shiny, or if
you're busy all day, just stay up later instead of going to bed.

It's definitely worth it once you get one!

Ok, people remeber your statistics, there are independent, and dependent event.

Encountering shiny raqyquaza is a INDEPENDENT event. For each INDIVIDUAL encounter, you only have a 1 in 8500 chance. HOWEVER as a WHOLE the odds for finding a rayquaza go up by 1 every time you encounter a non-shiny rayquaza. So if you encounter one every 30 seconds for 30 minutes, thats 60 encounters every day. 8500/60=141. So if you keep up your current rate, it will take you 141 attempt before your chance of encountering rayquaza as a whole becomes 100%. But just because you have a 100% chance as a WHOLE does not mean you are guaranteed a shiny rayquaza encounter, it may even take you 10000 attempts before you find one, but honestly the odds will be in your favor at that point and you will have to encounter it at some point.

Isn't enough to see a beautiful garden, without believing fairies are at the bottom of it too?
