Is the amount of loot dropped affected by the difficulty of the game?

No, but there are more enemies on the harder difficulties so you end up getting more drops.

Good, thanks. I was afraid there would be less on the harder difficulties. Currently playing very hard with an alchemist summoner and loving it.

Difficulty seems to affect the quality of the loot though.

I played a bit on both easy and very hard. I can't be sure, but I think the random mods on very hard are better. Like I just bought a green ring off the shop at level 11 on very hard that adds 17 ice damage, while my character on easy hasn't seen anything nearly as strong even at level 16.

Could just be luck though.

Just 17 ice damage ? Thats low. Usually, I stay away from items that give +number and opt for items that give +%

Anyways, I found a sword at Hard difficulty that bestows like some additional %24 dps or something like that. That was cool given I was only level 4.

Is it possible to change the difficulty level after starting a game? I'm like level 11 and playing on normal but it is just way too easy and I would like to raise the difficulty.

"Just 17 ice damage ? Thats low."

Not on a ring at level 11. Either that, or every ring I've ever found sucked.

"Is it possible to change the difficulty level after starting a game?"

No.

At early levels, static damage is better. At later levels, +% damage is better.

+24% of 60 DPS (at level 11) is a hell of a lot less than +17 damage with a fast weapon.

Anyway the highest +% of any kind of damage I've seen so far up to level 20 is +7%. Though I also haven't seen anything nearly as good as that ring I mentioned, so maybe the game is spitting out freak items occasionally.
