I was just wondering if I can still play Torchlight while in Offline Mode.

It isn't done downloading and I will be taking the Internet with me when I leave so it would be nice to know if the game can be played after I take the Internet.

You should... I don't see any reason why not. It -is- a single player game only after all.

Hmm. Hopefully it will work. The only reason I asked was because I have had games try to re-update themselves even after I disable the automatic updating - ceasing availability until the Internet is brought back to this PC.

Thanks for the information. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could test this out and let me know, but it isn't necessary since I have no other option other than using Offline Mode. Besides, I already purchased this and sent it as a gift, so I might as well continue with the download/installation regardless.

Yeah, you can play offline. Be aware, if you are offline, the game will not sync with the Steam server and if you play on another computer, it will not have anything you got while offline.

I figured it wouldn't save due to Steam Cloud. So long as the progress saves between plays, I am happy.

Thanks again. (99% downloaded)

I was also wondering if Steam Cloud would conflict with playing offline since I access internet via ethernet and I would like to play torchlight in other rooms of the house

It will work, and you can re-sync back up with Steam Cloud if you ever want to change computers and keep your stuff, just make sure you go online, start torchlight on comp 1, exit torchlight, let it sync-up, log into steam on comp 2 and load it up. Everything should be as it was on comp 1.
