DirectX has encountered an unrecoverable error!

I'm receiving that message whenever Black Ops SP or MP has finished loading a level and it should start rendering it on the screen. I've tried reinstalling all drivers (I even tried reverting to older graphics drivers), installed all windows updates and such. Here's my specs:

Intel Core2Duo E8500
Nvidia GeForce 260GTX
Asus P5K motherboard (RealTek onboard sound device)
4GB RAM
Windows XP SP3

Would anyone have any good suggestions on how to get the game running? Or should I just wait for a patch?

Did you reinstall the newest version of Direct X 9.C? So Many people forget to go and do this.

This is a web down loader from MS which downloads the newest version of Direct X 9.C June 2010 release.

Sorry for late reply, downloaded the whole game to be sure that it's not a problem with corrupt files. And yes, I downloaded the latest DirectX version also. :/

Having the same Error it occures in Multiplayer whilst loading the map and in single player same issue. AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5000+ 3.0 GB RAM
Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition Service Pack 3 (build 2600) GeForce 8800 GT updated both my drivers and my directx and its version 9.0c so the latest for it and still gives these errors

Restarted my PC, yeah. I'm using AVG Free and about those programs...no idea. RealTek sound driver, Intelli mouse, microsoft KB...nvidia control panel. I think those are the main programs running besides windows.

Just as an example Cod will crash on load if you have zone alarm because zone alarm will auto block it or block until the user allows or denies the game internet connection. Thus the game has no internet reply and locks/crashes waiting for one.

AVG won't be the problem, normal mice are plug and play so it won't be them. cod 4 did have a realtek sound issue so that's a possibility but Mine works and I also have a realtek.

What's your all your ingame graphics settings?
