Here's a easy way to steal in My player mode. actually only way
it's darn near impossible to steal in my player mode, i believe it's glitched, however if your player is on 1st and a cpu teammate is on third, you can steal 2nd every time as the catcher will always throw to 3rd.
lol stealing second is not glitched

Stealing isn't impossible... Your PC starts at 50 Speed and 50 Acceleration. If you look at the speed ratings of MLB players, a 70 rating is average for position players. That means you start off REALLY slow. You need to get your ratings up to have any shot of stealing, even in the minors where the catchers have terrible arms...
the only way to get your speed and acceleration ratings up is to steal, and you can't steal with a 50 rating
you also get it up by doing the hit and runs. and maybe scorting runs i am not sure on that one.
GMANFREAK on XBOX Live. Not changing this until Finlay wins the WWE, ECW, or World Heavyweight Title.
Yes, sort of a catch-22... But stealing isn't the only way you can get baserunning skill points. You can get them with successful hit & runs (which come up quite frequently when you get on base) and scoring runs. The thing that sux with both of these is that it's largely dependent on your teammates coming through for you, and let's face it...they're no good. But as you get better at hitting, you'll have more opportunities to score runs, esp. when you drive yourself in with HR's. If you wanted to build your PC to be like Ellsbury or Carl Crawford, it's going to take you a while...
You actually get more points for Runs (+50) than you do for SB (+35) or hit & runs (+15)... (I think...)
You also get points for tagging up and advancing. 25 I believe.
Why would you try to steal bases with a player who rated less than 85 in speed and acceleration? Don't steal bases until you bump your player speed and accerleration rating to 85 or more. It's called common sense, you should try using it sometime. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LoXfiSU_wqE

NICE. although i tried it once with no lead (holding right trigger right away), and the catcher actually threw to second. other than that, every other time i took a 2 or 3 step lead and the catcher threw to third
