Is this game only good to play multiplayer or with friends?

Basically the topic... this looks like a very "social" game and I can't play on live because of some internet cord problems.

Also, on a side note, my friend was telling me that you can get a new xbox live trial membership by registering with different e-mails a week apart. Is this true or did MS patch this loophole up? I have no problem with paying for live, but i could care less about showing off achievements and such...

U can play solo, but the longevity (and honestly, fun) come from playing with real players, be they friends or randoms.

If you don't have online, don't bother. Its very communication cordination based game, something you can't do with Bots.
If you have a friend, 1 can tag along and played, but then you left with two AI Bots. (My friend got bored quickly and ask when we can switch disks to Modern Warefare 2 so it varies to the chums you have)

Plaining the single player of this game is completely pointless / impossible. The 3 bots that accompany you are incredibly badly programmed and make the single player experience truely plainful.

On the other hand, I recommend Left 4 Dead 1, because the bots in that are actually awesome (as useful as the average human player easily), making the single player in that game totally viable.

I managed Advanced single player in the first game with the bots....but there's no chance of doing that in the sequel though.

Exaggerations of the previous posters aside, yes, you can play this one player. Yes, you can still have a lot of fun with it. However, it is still more fun with at least one friend or two playing along.

I feel like if you don't have online functionality you are missing out on a good 3/4ths of the game. You can most certainly have fun solo but I feel like playing with friends is the best way to enjoy it. Nobody screaming into the mic about how much you are a "noob," just people who want to enjoy the game and have a good time.
