How about customization of your own survivor? Make it very customizable, with thousands of different combination. Maybe instead of creating your own name (We all know what we'd do if we could create our own name), we could pick our name from a list of 300+ names.

As we unlock achievements or complete certain parts of the game, we can customize our weapons, all the way down to a super melee weapon, a pike with a chainsaw attached, with axe heads all along the sides. The more you heal people the more health you can give people, and if your good enough you can temporarily give people health over 100.

I'd like if L4D3 was much more customizable and rewarding

I would like the ability to tape chainsaws to your entire body.
100% covered in chainsaws, from head to toe.

Wish granted; but they all point inwards. I wish the matchmaking lobby / kick vote system was implemented like it is in Halo 3.

Oh god... That would be so horrible if L4D copied Halo's matchmaking... I'd probably quit playing L4D... I'm infinitely grateful to Valve for not doing that, as well as keeping that crappy unreal engine out of their game. They really won me over by sticking to their own method, which imo is better... Not perfect, but definitely better.

Anyways... About your idea TC... It would kind of get in the way of the theme that they are going for. Plus voice acting and dialog for that many characters would be an utter waste of time.

But it would be cool if they had various unlockable outfits or something like that, such as the old RE games had. Then when you get really good at the game you will be able to unlock a commando outfit or humorous costume or something lol... xD

I don' t mean copy Halo's XP system or rank system.. I mean copy the matchmaking that selected the 8 members of the game, didn't allow anyone to be kicked, and started the game. Additionally, in Halo, you could only kick people if they team-killed you. I find kicking is way to prolific in this game; the game is intended to pit four Survivors (who presumably don't know each other and probably aren't great at working together) against teeming hordes of zombies. Going in with a preset team is what the Team matches are for; random games should use this matchmaking system.

Of course it changes into an argument over halo 3 and l4d...

It's not an argument...?

I much prefer the gameplay in the L4D series, but Halo got matchmaking (and stat tracking) right.

I wasn't talking about the xp or rank system... :P

I really hated Halo's lobby... For example, if they implemented it in L4D, you wouldn't be able to pick what map you played on, you wouldn't be able to get mic only games, and it wouldn't have join in progress, among other things... All while taking longer to load.

It's not so much an argument as it is a difference in opinion. You seem to really like Halo's lobby, where as I think it's one of the worst lobbies I've ever seen. So I'll just leave it there, and be grateful Valve does things the way they do.
