Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance
This should bridge the gap between MGS2 and MGS4.
Think about it, MGS2 was ported to the Xbox (call it a sucky port, call it an unnecessary port, but it was port) meaning the only part of the MGS universe Xbox players have been able to experience is Raiden's story, obviously with Snake supporting. So it seems logical to me that Rising will tell us Xbox players what happened next basically, perhaps up until the start of MGS4. In a way, Raiden for Xbox, Snake for PS....get it? I know what you're thinking...and I know that MGS2 was multiplatform and that Rising is going to be multiplatform so the PS3 is'nt missing out on anything. So...it just seems logical to me that this will continue on from MGS2. Thoughts?
I guess. --- Don't put that there! Oh no!

Raiden = Xbox Snake = Playstation works for me --- 360 GT:EeriestTomb http://cyberworld.forumotions.com/index.htm
When you think about it, Raiden's looks mesh better with a X360 rather than with a PS... Metrosexuall raiden for the win! :D
**SPOILERS** Ok, first of all I want to guarantee you that I understand what you are saying, and I also see why you are using that logic. However, I think that it is flawed logic, and I'm honestly not trying to offend you. Let me explain.. It is not out of the ordinary or abnormal for specific entertainment consoles to have just PIECES of a video game franchise. And this is nothing new to Konami, because in fact, they released Metal Gear 1 for Nintendo, but Nintendo never got Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake... That is a good example, but an even better example is the release of Metal Gear Solid: Twin Snakes on the Nintendo Gamecube. ^---Notice how the Nintendo Gamecube only got a single PIECE of the Metal Gear Solid story --- simply just ONE SLICE of the MGS pie --- if you will. I can go on and on with this, but in the interest of time, we will use more recent examples of the Banjo Kazooie and Perfect Dark games... To keep things very short and simple... Banjo-Kazooie 1 and 2 were released EXCLUSIVELY for the Nintendo 64, however, Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts (Part 3) was released EXCLUSIVELY for the Xbox 360. Pretty much the same scenario with the Perfect Dark games. The original PD was a Nintendo 64 exclusive... But the latest game, called Perfect Dark Zero, just happened to be an Xbox 360 exclusive. Anyways, now that we hopefully understand that it is not out of the ordinary for different entertainment systems to get only PIECES of different video game series', lets talk about MGS: Rising. First of all, you've got to understand that almost NO PLOT INFORMATION whatsoever has been released about this game. There have been a few pictures and like a 30 second trailer released --- thats it. So there could be a whole number of different things that could happen with this game... For all we know, HK might pull the same thing he did with MGS2 in reverse. That is: Make everyone think that Raiden is the main character of the entire game --- have him playable in the first chapter, and then switch him out for Solid Snake for the rest of the game. About the time line of this game... I don't think it is logical to think that this game will be a prequel to MGS4 simply because MGS2 just happened to be ported to the Xbox. The best logic to determine if this game is a prequel or not is to take a look at the trailer as well as the 2 pictures released by KP... Alot of people think that these images SEEM to indicate that Rising will be a prequel to MGS4 simply because Raiden is in his ninja suit and Crying Wolf is also shown. I, however, think that these pictures were carefully chosen and put out to fool people into believing that Rising is a prequel, when it is really a full blown sequel to MGS4. Even if the game is a sequel, though, I still think that there could be a chapter or two that will take place before MGS4 explaining some of the things that happened during that time period. |
