Do you think future Metroid games will use pre-rendered CG cutscenes?

I really liked how they did it with this game.

The quality of the CGI fluctuated, which I didn't like, but scenes like the opening looked absolutely incredible. I really liked this game's use of CGI and I also enjoyed how it seamlessly switched from in-game to CGI and back to in-game. I thought that was really cool.

Now, given that Miyamoto might direct the next Metroid game, I'm assuming that the game will have like 5 minutes' worth of cutscenes using only the in-game engine, but I hope I'm wrong with that assumption.

Do you think future Metroid games will use pre-rendered CG cutscenes? Would you WANT them to?

I personally don't care, I just want there to be as much distance between Sakamoto and any writing implement as possible so that there is some decent writing to go with said cutscenes.

I don't really care, but Metroid's hardly enough of a cinematic experience to warrant long ones. Maybe just your typical "space-horizon" shot for an opening and leave it at that. The Prime Trilogy was a spectacle enough on its own to not really need them.

I doubt it
the main reason this game had CGI cutscenes is that Team Ninja, more specifically drocket, are graphic whores
that's literally it

everything that was done in CGI in Other M could have been done just as well with in-game graphics. it wouldn't have looked as pretty, but it would have opened up loads of disc space that could have been used to do... well... anything, like making the game not suck

seriously, though, the era of CGI is nearing its end, at least on consoles
if the next Metroid game will be on WiiU, then CGI is not going to be rather pointless since the difference between in-game and pre-rendered graphics is getting very very minimal

*thinks CGI is a silly term considering the entire game is made of computer generated imagery*

That depends on the quality of the CGI.

Well since the Wii U is supposed to be a bit better than the PS3, the difference between CGI and normal graphics is likely to be minimal. It depends on how much money and effort Nintendo wants to put into the game more than anything.

There are plenty of beautiful PS3 games that have CGI that look 10x better.

I'd prefer Prime's approach of having minimal cutscenes and telling the story through gameplay and optional logbook data

This.

However, it would be interesting to see some super-imposing like they did for the Myst games.
