I haven't done one of those in a while and the board is sort of dead right now, so I thought "why not?"
this one wasn't even addressed by the tvtropes blog, but it's worth talking about IMO

basically, during the Ridley scene, James blind-sides Adam and tries to shoot him. lucky for Adam, though, he is from the matrix, so he manages to dodge the bullet and it only trashes his ear piece
this is the justification the game gives for why Adam has to cut Samus off in sector zero instead of warning her through the com systems

my question: was there not a single ****ing microphone anywhere on the station? the console in the CONTROL ROOM of the station is connected to all the data rooms, but has no built-in mic? people have to solely rely on their bluetooth ear pieces? why?
what about the ship the GF guys arrived in? did they not bring ANY spare gear in case some of their stuff gets trashed?
the console was able to effortlessly connect to Samus' own com systems AND can livestream her PoV at all times, but there was no way to contact her by means other than a call? what about a bloody text message or a picture? the data rooms conveniently provide you with maps and markers that were set by Adam (since they reflect your objective), so why couldn't he send her a marker telling her to return to the control room to get the next objective?

the actual reason is that Sakafail wanted us to believe that Adam was dead at that point. obviously, having the game make sense by letting Adam figure out a way to contact Samus would have destroyed that
that's one of the main problems of this game's writing. it's written around specific set pieces and doesn't think for a second about the implications
