What affinity level should I get everyone to?

#1NettoSaitoPosted 4/16/2012 3:06:25 PM
Ok so I'm about 30 hours into the game, I've finished a little over 100 side quests, and from what I've read I'm about 30-35% done with the game. So with that being said... what level should my affinity be with each character? Currently I've only been using my main party (where no one has reached max affinity), and I'm starting to think that was a bad idea (since I really want to see every heart to heart event possible).

Anyway from what I understand the best way to bring it up is to take side quests with different party members/leaders, but since there's only around 400 side quests that really limits it since there's 7 party members. So... what should I be doing? Should I just worry about getting EVERYONE to at least "good" status? Or should I shoot for something higher?

Also is there any other faster way to bring it up? Such as... are there any good gift item farming spots to quickly bring it up?

Another way for you to gain affinity between other characters is giving them gifts (the stuff you collect in the field). How many hearts it gives depends on the character be given the gift and the item. The max amount of hearts you can get for giving a gift is 3 hearts but be careful cause some items might make you lose hearts, experiment to find out who likes what

(ex: *MINOR SPOILER* the blue chain is one of Shulk's favorite gifts)

Another way to get affinity is to accept quests with different people and it adds up quite fast if you accept alot of them and have the patience take the time to switch your party members around

Thanks but that isn't what I was really asking about. I'm wondering if I should farm gifts so everyone has at least a "good" relation ship with everyone, or if I should just try maxing everyone one at a time?

Maxing out your main party with eachother first is the best idea. The higher your affinity, the more Chain Attack combo's you'll have, and the more Skill Links among them you'll have.

Then focus on the rest.

Max number of hearts per a gift is actually 4 (for a very rare item) not 3

What about heart to heart events though? I know I've already missed one (which is from an area you get locked out of), and I really don't want to miss any more... Are there any characters I should force to become friends as soon as possible?

I knew there was a gift guide, I was just implying that he might not want to use a guide and find it out by himself

Actually I already found the easiest 3 star items for each character, that's not the problem lol. I just don't know what I should do. Should I get everyone to "good" status before moving on, or should I just worry about that near the end of the game? I want to see EVERY heart to heart so I'm a bit worried I'll miss more.

You can't miss any heart to heart events so don't worry. relationships matter in gem crafting if you want to open that can of worms. higher for heat, lower to help make some cylinders.

Realistically you only need gems for high level unique monsters near endgame so dont worry about that yet either. raise your battle party high for chains and such, and if you see a heart to heart you want to see swap out that character and do some quests/gift.
