it took me a while to se what was all the hype, it was ok for me at first but not at 60 hours in I cpould Say its as good as the great ones like Chrono Triger, Final Fantasy VI and VII, Xenogears, KOTOR, Mass Effect.

Why do people always want to go with top 10 lists. It is a bit silly to take some 20,000+ games that have been developed since the 1980's and vote them down to 10 (yes, I'm counting Indie as some Indie games like Aquaria just flippin' rock and I feel easily outclass most console RPGs).

I would say top 100 is a more fair assessment.

For myself I would put FF6 in my top 10 (depends on how I feel at the time) or top 25. Xenogears absolutely in my top 25. I consider CT to be a classic with a lot of goodies, but I could barely classify it in my top 50. Maybe closer to number 75. FF7 I wouldn't even put in my top 100. Maybe close to 100, it is a good game, just for me, I don't consider it a great game. I always felt it came short of true greatness, but I'm hardly in the majority opinion.

KOTOR would be in my top 50 for sure, but Mass Effect? I would put the first game somewhere in my top 200, but the second and third? Not even in my top 1,000.

As for Blade...hard to say, but so far I put it in my top 50. That's pretty high for me considering I've played well over 1,000 RPG's in my lifetime. I'm also including every form of RPG (kind of have to if you're including a sandbox RPG like Mass Effect).

Icewind Dale 2? Neverwinter Nights? Fallout 1, 2, maybe 3, New Vegas? Bioshock 1, maybe 2? The Elder Scrolls 2, 3, 4, maybe...MAYBE 5 (as much as some love it, I'm saddened with the dumbing down of features from Oblivion on)? Wasteland 1? Betrayal at Krondor? Wizardry 6, 7, and 8? Ultima 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, and Underground 1/2, I would say 9 but 9 has too many flaws? Diablo 2? Titan's Quest? Final Fantasy Tactics? Tactics Ogre? Hoshigami? Joan of Ark? Cave Story? Aquaria? Wizard and Warriors? Might and Magic 3, Xeen, and 7? Heroes of Might and Magic 3 and 4? Divine Divinity 1 and 2 (easily one of the top 3 Diablo clones and probably better than Diablo 2 imo)? Gothic 2? Deus Ex? Chrono Cross? Xenosaga 1? Star Ocean 2, maybe 1 and 3? Tales of Phantasia, Destiny, Eternia, Symphonia, Abyss, and Vesperia? Persona 2 (both), 3, and 4? Shin Megami Tensei 1, 2, and 3? Digital Devil Saga 1 and 2? Legend of Legaia 2? The Last Guardian? Lost Odyssey? Dragon Quest 3 - 9, Monsters 1 - Joker? Wanderer's from Ys 1+2 (last 2 pc remakes), 3 (remake), 5 and 7, maybe 6 (fun but just so easy)? Phantasy Star 1, 2, 4, maybe 3, Online version 1, 2, maybe 3? Alundra? Arc the Lad? Lunar: The Silver Star (and PSX remake), and Eternal Blue (and remake)? Vay (yes, easy, simple, a bit cliche, but very funny and solid gameplay)? Odin Sphere? Wild ARMS 1, 2, 3, maybe 4 and 5 (good games, but I don't like the changes to ARMs or the stories as much, though 5 is better than 3 and 4)? Vandal Hearts 2? Suikoden 2, 3, and Tactics? Parasite Eve? Vampire the Masquerade, Bloodlines? Arx Fatalis? System Shock 2 (technically an RPG, but if we count Mass Effect, this counts too)? Borderlands? Dungeon Siege 2? Risen? Torchlight? The Last Remnant (PC version only...fixes a lot of the complaints over the console version)? Etrian Odyssey 1, 2, and especially 3?

I can keep going with RPGs I find to be more than worthwhile, but I'm just going to stop here.
