Monster Egg

I am trying to get the monster egg in the secret ingredient sidequest. i did find some advice that said follow the elk waterhole around north then to south but i cant find the egg can anyone help?

IIRC its close to the spiral tree gate thing but its at an elevated location and you won't be able to reach it even if its visibile on the map. You need to go through elks watering hole to reach it from behind.

Best entrance should be behind the giant tree with a giant crystal deposit, where a heart to heart is located. go behind the tree where there are upas and sardis and piranax. go right when you reach the end of the path.

i found the elevated area with the hear2heart and it wasnt there and slightly higher i found the big crystal and it wasnt there is this the right area i assume it is i dont see it anywhere

that area is just the vicinity of entrance and you should be able to see the "!" on your map.

Just go to the water part of the map behind that then go north. then go east when you reach the end. by going east you, circle back down south past fallen a fallen tree and lowered areas.
