"modern" pretty much excludes the original Legend of Zelda and Zelda II, since they didn't really have thorough plot.

I say C. This is the only game that you don't see anything wrong with the world. You are only going on your adventure because you want to save Zelda and because the old lady told you to. No one is suffering, you find out Zelda's safe after the 2nd dungeon, and the game doesn't seem dark at all. Couple that with the fact there are very few important NPCs, and I think its the most lighthearted Zelda game yet.
Not changing this sig until we get a new main series Tales game released on a Nintendo console in the US

You could technically say that we can't say that the world is perfect considering the surface is completely empty and we know that it's like that and barren and all that because Demise did the bad things.

Overall, though, yeah it is kind of light-hearted.
I love dark things and drama and all that, so I am a bit disappointed that Skyward wasn't really dark. Then again, I also don't like it when it's too dark...

It's light-hearted? I figured towards the end, the game becomes more and more dark or at least saddening, considering.... I'm not gonna write it, cause I don't want to put a spoiler tag up for a game that's been out for about 18 years now...

C, though I don't necessarily see that as a bad thing.

SS was pretty light-hearted...
But like a lot of other people have said, that's not a bad thing.

If you ignore story and just go for artstyle, combat, and music, WW would top all the others though.
I'm not easily impressed; I'm usually oblivious to whatever's in front of me.
