CassyChanPosted 2/11/2013 8:15:27 AM | As I'm sure has already been said, if P* set up the timer like they did with Vanquish than none of the time from those failed 59 sections will count towards the game completion time and neither will cutscenes. Whoever got that game completion screen probably spent another two hours watching cutscenes and another couple hours or more on all those failed attempts.
It's still probably gonna be 10 hours for regular players and a couple of hours for speedruns, like a lot of games. Those who listen to a lot of the codecs will probably add another hour or more on, those who spend a lot of time retrying may spend a lot more time as well. VR Missions will probably add a few hours and there's plenty of replay value with the different weapons, bodies and whatever else P* and KojiPro have in store for us.
I was initially disappointed but thinking about it it'll probably be average length for an action game. --- Currently playing: Ni no Kuni Games I play: http://psnprofiles.com/cassychan |
gamestop27Posted 2/11/2013 8:17:27 AM | Considering this game is like Vanquish where the point of playing and reward is improving on how you play, the length is irrelevant. --- Evolution is not true, I've had a dog for 14 years and its still a dog no change into a cat.~William Simms |

It's still a Metal Gear game, and I don't think that argument holds up well in this case where many players will be Metal Gear fans looking to enjoy a game set in the Metal Gear world. I've replayed Vanquish many times but it's always over too quickly. If MGR was only 5 hours long including cutscenes (which it very obviously won't be) very, very few people would say the length is irrelevant. --- Currently playing: Ni no Kuni Games I play: http://psnprofiles.com/cassychan |
RagirothPosted 2/11/2013 8:23:58 AM | What just pisses me off is how some previews said that the game would be longer than 5 hours, or that they're like 8 hours in and not quite near the end yet. Why does everything have to exagerrated? --- http://z8.invisionfree.com/Final_Chase_Zone/index.php? PSN-Ragiroth |
Bosniak10Posted 2/11/2013 8:24:03 AM | *Sigh* Another game that I will have to wait for a massive price drop :/ I'm not paying $60 for 6 hours of gameplay. |

Why does everything have to exagerrated? Game developers themselves always grossly exaggerate game time. How many times have you heard the game 'has over 20 hours of play time' and you beat the game in 8 hours or something? Developers/reviewers are paid to make the games look good. Thats why youll never see a dev saying 'the game can be beaten in one sitting' or a preview bashing a game. |

Sigh, some people don't understand replayability and let other people judge whether they should buy a game or not......you don't buy a game if you're not gonna play it more than once, I know this is a game I will keep replaying, I was like you before then saw at times I wanted to replay a game and ended up rebuying so now I'll keep because I know sometimes I'll feel the need to replay --- Enthusiast of the Female Body I draw anime.... |

Because they didn't exaggerate. There is no way you can beat a game in 6 hours if you died 60 times. Yes you could. Some deaths can be like 2 mins long from bosses or maybe from qte that take 2 seconds. Load the checkpoint, miss the qte, die, repeat. |
