Board help me with this

How do you lock a blade? As far as I remember, Raiden picked up his sword and it flashed the ID lock after Sam fight. Really? I could understand if it was stuck in the sheath and it couldn't be removed but...

I have a hard time getting past the fact that the blade, because its locked, can't cut anything. Only thing I can think of is that the HF property can be turned off/on. Story mechanic?

There are plenty of ways. DNA coding, voice lock, vital signs...
Without the vibration mechanism a HF blade is just a blade. Raiden wouldn't use it even if it wasn't locked most likely but even if he wanted to steal it his regular blade would be far more effective.
Frank Zappa is God. Fact.
King of Heroes, do you have enough swords?!

the HF component would be shut off due to id lock and it be just cool looking sword whihc was useless againts cyborgs without HF.
Nothing is true everything is permitted.

I assume the lock was on the HF function, without HF the blade would have been as useful to Raiden as a stick.

Pretty much this. It's still an almost legendary blade but even then it's about as useful as a stick compared to a HF Blade.

As everyone said the HF part would not work but I am pretty sure it could cut and damage just the same, but I did invision the deflating like a ballon because the ID didn't match, I was tears laughing about that image which made the next level harder than it needed to be

Because High Frequency swords have a special motor in them that vibrates it really fast in order to cut through things. Without that it still is a good sword but noneffective for cyborgs.

I don't think 6 times was enough.

It locks the High Frequency function, which makes it a normal sword that isn't that effective against cyborgs.
