If so, how hardcore is the game itself? As hard and punishing as the old DMC games (1,3) or more "friendly-based" like the reboot? --- I think that dude was a dude, dude!

I'd say somewhere in between. If you don't learn how to parry and to aim in Blade Mode, it gets really rough down the road, but it's not that hard on Normal or even Hard. Until you crank up the difficulty, on Revengeance the difficulty is about on par with DMC3's DMD mode and Very Hard can still provide a challenge.
And if it's too easy or too hard, there's tons of weapons and accessories you can use to make yourself stronger, or not use to make yourself weaker. There's even a Wooden Sword where the upgrades actually make it weaker, if you really want to challenge yourself. --- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PDHCLjuOzXY Anjar elium farakeeu agua.

Gameplay wise, no. The emphasis isn't on style but on efficiency. It's the same genre though! --- PSN: Royta15 www.youtube.com/royta15

Less style-based, less combos and options, less aerial combat, more pragmatic.
