Setup cannon continue. (-9)

Every time I try to install the Beta, I get this error message. I already have the Beta downloaded, it just gives me that whenever I try to install.
Has anyone else received this error? And if so, how did you fix it?

I already have DirectX 10 installed.

I had that problem too, all I did was do a windows update, then restart my computer, everything worked fine, your directX may need to be updated. PS update your graphics card drivers too if you havn't.

I update Windows, my drivers (AMD), and I attempted to update DirectX, but was told I had the most recent version and did not need an update.
What other solutions are there?

I assume you have Vista and SP2, the DX11 update should turn up in Windows update

260GB are free, so plenty.

What I did is download the newest vcredist_x86.exe redistributable from microsoft.

(I think it was that one.)

Copy it and paste it into (I changed the old one to a vcredist_x86.bak first),

c:/program files (x86)/Electronic Arts/Battlefield 3 Beta/_Installer/vc/vc2008sp1/redist

Then try to reinstall again.
Just because you're paranoid, doesn't mean they're not out to get you.
