why do pro's never use the Xray moves very often?

Many characters can get almost equal (sometimes more) damage off of using enhanced moves, so they want to save meter for that. Also, using a breaker to avoid 40% is often better than inflicting an extra 15-30%, not to mention breaker only takes 2 bars.

From what I can tell watching a handful of videos, no. They use the bar to start their own combos and break others.

They want to save their meter in cause they need to use a breaker. They'll only use it if they know it'll hit and win the the whole match.

Unless you're Tom Brady.

Numerous reasons. A) Many characters do more damage using enhanced specials, or don't do enough damage so they save it for breakers. B) Many players will not use meter at all, but rather ration it out for breakers if they are fighting a douche like Cyrax that does 100% damage. C) I like to save it up for the final round, and seeing I have an x-ray and that I'm not using it will usually make my opponents think twice about some things, giving me an upperhand.

I use Kitana's at least once or twice each tournament. She has no armor for escaping pressure so sometimes I'll use X-Ray. It does unbreakable damage so I'll use it in combos to end rounds. Sometimes I actually use it as a projectile since it's such a good trade, especially again as a round ender.

I was just about to mention you and how you make great use of Kit's X-Ray at high level. ^_^

I think it's character dependent. Most characters not only benefit from, but NEED EN moves for thier gameplan. Sub-Zero, Ermac, Kitana, Mileena, and I'm sure there are a few others are all characters that can stockpile meter for X-Ray and not miss out on much.

Mileena Note: I'm sure a lot of people just said "wtf?" But from personal experience, Mileena's X-Ray is an absolute game-changer. She has no armor anywhere else, so people frequently attempt to keep pressure on her. And as the game has developed, there isn't much use for her EN moves, tbh. EN Tele is punishable by anyone who has perfected D1 Anti-Airs, EN Roll is still decent, but has to be used sparingly as most players fuzzy Mileena from low to high on every B3, and using it in the middle of strings is too risky, EN Sai was never really a good option unless used for chip or after an air Tele-Kick to extend damage a bit, and EN Bite's only application is slight damage boost to end the round as it causes hard knockdown while the normal version causes standing reset.

I'll sometimes use naked EX ball as an overhead against players that always block low against Mileena. You know, like blocked JIP then EX roll. Opens up b+3 when you have meter.
